Elemental Psychology for Spiritual Development
What is the link between modern psychology and the ancient elements of Air, Earth, Fire, and Water? Are we each born with a predisposition toward an element? How does this affect our mental, physical, emotional, spiritual, and magical evolution? And what is the inner conflict (Earth/Air or Fire/Water) driving our creativity, passions, delusions, and projections?
In this workshop, Katrina Messenger will share the elemental sources for both the Jungian and Myers-Briggs personality typology systems, and provide an overview of her elemental psychological theory from her book Elemental Psychology.
Katrina Messenger is a poet, priestess, warrior, and witch. She is also a full-time Wiccan mystic and an ordained minister. For over thirty years, she has studied mythology, esoteric sciences, and human development. She is the founder of Connect DC (1999) and Reflections Mystery School (2004) in Washington, DC. Katrina is a certified Archetypal and Dream Patterning Analyst through the Assisi Institute. She is the author of Elemental Psychology: Using Jungian Psychology and the Sacred Elements for Spiritual Development, Descent: A Journey for Women, and Dark Beauty. Katrina is an elder in her community and a recognized leader and teacher worldwide.
The Elements As Four Minds
This is a class about the Four Elements that includes is a meditative ritual. First, I’ll talk about how the Four Elements describe styles of consciousness. Then I’ll ask you to come up with a question or a problem to work on in the ritual. If you don’t want to use this ritual for problem solving, then use it to meet the Elementals. The ritual is a guided journey to the realm of the Four elements and then back to Spirit with the intention to explore a particular aspect or seek guidance on a particular thing for each person.

A Lavender Path: Honoring Queer Ancestors
Our queer ancestors can show up in many ways. They can be blood-relatives who were known to be queer. They can be historical figures who lived a life in open defiance of the norms of their time, or who lead a quieter existence with questions of their sexuality left to rumor and gossip. They can be mythic figures who embody themes outside the binary. This workshop will discuss ways to incorporate Queer Ancestor veneration into a spiritual practice. Participants will learn how to find Queer Ancestors in history, and various ways of connecting with them ranging from shrine-tending to developing a personal Queer Ancestor pilgrimage.
Ron Padrón (he/him/his) is a gay Cuban-American hedge priest from the swamps of Florida now living in the mid-Atlantic with his husband and their small cryptid dog. He is an ordained cleric priest through Sacred Well Congregation, and is the creator of White Rose Witching through which he manages a blog sharing Queer Ancestor Spotlights and rituals. He has presented at gatherings such as the Salem Witchcraft and Folklore Festival, Hallowed Homecoming, Free Spirit Gathering, various Pagan Pride Days, historic sites, and small museums on topics ranging from colonial witchcraft politics to queer-affirming spirituality.
